Choosing a Wedding Photographer

Choose a photographer you can trust, a photographer with integrity who will be there for you on your big day.

When looking the photographer’s work, ask yourself, has the photographer created and captured moments of fun and Drama? Great photographic moments can happen by themselves, but photographers often craft them. Assess the wedding pictures from previous shoots; look at the composition and light but especially at the facial expressions. These emotions are an indication of the ambience and mood created by the photographer.

We recommend Looking at a minimum of 2 complete wedding albums from start to finish. Do you feel that you were there? Do you like the pictures? Was the presentation and print quality good?

Is the style of the photography you are shown exactly what you want for your album? Discuss with the photographer what you want from them on your day.

The Intimate, relaxed, unobtrusive nature of the Nicky's shooting style but you in control of the day. If you or your partner are uncomfortable being photographed, consider a reportage style working in an unobtrusive 'fly on the wall' way.

Photographers will of course show you their finest photographs at the enquiry stage; judge their ability on what you see. It is easy to take 4 or 5 excellent pictures at each wedding. It is however a different matter taking 200 excellent images at every wedding.

Choose a photographer you trust and can have fun with.
